Monthly Harmony Newsletter
Welcome to Edition Ten of the IN HARMONY online monthly newsletter.
New Harmony Feature
Cancelling a Bank Rec Transaction
It seems to happen to all of us... Banks accidentally put transactions through on your bank statement only to realise the mistake and reverse them out a few lines down. Previously this posed a problem when loading a bank statement into Harmony as you would have to create a dummy transaction to negate the error. Not anymore!
We now have a new Cancel function available when you load your bank statements into Harmony. This feature allows you to select two entries that cancel each other out. The debit and credit entries have to have the same dollar value. Once you have matched them using the Cancel function, it will mark them on your bank rec screen as "Cancelled". Problem solved.
Pre-Payments on Purchase Orders
With so many Creditors with different payment terms it`s easy for things to get messy. To make life easier Harmony now has the ability to apply pre-payments to purchase orders. This means that the amount paid is linked to the order from creation.
When the goods are finally received, the pre-payment is automatically allocated to the transaction. All that`s left to pay is the balance of the invoice.
New WinPOS Feature
Customer Rewards
As customers are needing more and more incentive to come back into stores these days, retailers are looking for easy solutions to entice customers. WinPOS has a few handy reward systems that can be easily set up and managed.
Issuing Discount Vouchers at Point of Sale
WinPOS can automatically generate discount vouchers at the Point of Sale when a transaction meets a certain criteria. I.e. Spend $1000 and automatically receive a $150 discount voucher.
There are two types of vouchers that can be issued. The first is a discount reason voucher that can either be a $ or % discount. The discount in this instance will be issued on every line of the transaction.
The second type is a promo discount voucher. This voucher is printed with a specific $ amount that is applied to the overall value of the sale.
Distributing Your Own Discount Vouchers
You can create your own discount vouchers and distribute them to your customers (these are a great addition to newsletters). The vouchers can be generic or for specific stock ranges and you can have multiple promotions running at the same time. They are easy to manage as the value, expiration date and stock (the discount is applied to) is controlled by your Head Office.
An added benefit of using a discount voucher instead of a gift voucher is that you dont have to pay GST on the portion you are discounting.
For more information about any of these new features please contact your Account Manager.

E-Commerce Development Update
We have implemented new Websites/E-Commerce solutions since the last newsletter.
Rachel Gilbert
Rachel Gilbert is Australia`s latest hot fashion export. After cutting her cloth with fellow Sydney-based designer Lisa Ho and a stint working in New York, Gilbert launched her namesake line in 2007. The brand`s gorgeous signature dresses, adorned with rhinestones, jewels or fringing, are delightfully feminine and party perfect. They recently launched their new look web site and brand new e-commerce site.
Merchandise Financial Planning
It is most important for retailers to embrace practical and sensible disciplines in their business to enable profitable outcomes.
Merchandise Financial Planning, together with Gross Profit calculating and range planning, enables retailers to see "what if" scenarios as they build their product offer for their customer.
Ken Tickle from Merchandise Financial Planner (MFP) has been successfully assisting FBS customers with KPI reporting as well as OTB, range and forward planning for some time now.
As a result of our alliance with Ken, we have in turn created a number of specialised KPI and Planning reports which are really benefiting our customers. If you are interested in speaking with Ken to see how he can help your business, feel free to email him at ktickle@pacific.net.au or check out the MFP website: http://www.mfp.net.au/
