Monthly Harmony Newsletter
Welcome to edition three of the IN HARMONY online monthly newsletter.
Harmony Desktop Version 1.7.1.5

If you are not already using Harmony Desktop 1.7.1.5 throughout your office then it is recommended you download and install the software on all PCs that are currently used to access Harmony.
This version addresses the font locking problem where Harmony Desktop will not start up if you have Microsoft Outlook open and running. In addition, Harmony Desktop 1.7.1.5 is required for the Harmony 13A Report Engine to seamlessly integrate with Excel, PDF and HTML output formats.
With other features like additional programmable buttons and improved logging facilities, Harmony Desktop 1.7.1.5 is a must for any Harmony user.
If you are interested in upgrading, you can download the software from our website at www.fbsaust.com.au Simply click on the "Downloads and Newsletters" link on the menu and select Harmony Desktop V 1.7.1.5.
When the following screen appears select "Save" and remember where you saved the file.
Once the download is complete, double click on the file and choose the "Setup" button. The self extractor will automatically extract the application files and begin the setup program. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
While you are at it, download and install the latest version of Harmony Document Viewer 1.3.0.0 at the same time.
Feel free to contact the FBS Help Desk should you encounter any problems during the upgrade process.
Harmony Feature
To ensure correct calculation of import duties, Harmony now has the ability to calculate Tariff Adjustments in line with adjustments applied by Australian Customs.
There are two types of Customs adjustments:
1. An adjustment is made to the overall value of a stock item(s) designated by a single tariff code. The set duty rate is then applied to the recalculated value. The adjustment is made prior to the calculation of duty.
2. An adjustment is made when one stock item is broken down by customs into various components. In this case, each component may attract the item preset duty rate, a different duty rate or even zero duty. These items are designated by various tariff codes.
For example, a garment is purchased in its complete form. Harmony will treat this garment as one stock item with a set duty rate of 17.5%. However, the hanger it arrives on may only attract 5%. The trims used in the making of the garment were originally exported from Australia and therefore no duty is to apply on the re-import of an export. The tariff adjustment is made after the calculation of duty. |
WinPOS Refund on Original Sales Receipt
WinPOS now allows you to process a return with information from the original invoice.
You can select to return all items or a single item from the original invoice. The items will automatically appear on the product selection screen with a negative value in the quantity field. As WinPOS is looking at information from the original invoice, any discounts that were applied in the sale will be applied in the return. Once the stock has been returned against the original invoice, it is flagged as such, and cannot be returned again against that invoice.
If you would like to make use of either of these new Harmony features, please contact your Account Manager who will be able to guide you through the process.
Harmony User Manuals
We are constantly updating and releasing new versions of Harmony User Manuals on the FBS website. In order to stay up to date with the Harmony software, it is a good idea to ensure that you are using the latest and greatest User Manuals for each Harmony module. To obtain a Harmony User Manual you must go to our website: www.fbsaust.com.au and login using your username and password.
Once logged in, go to the "Download Manuals" section of the members area.
You will then have the ability to download any of the listed User Manuals in either Microsoft Word, PDF or Compressed ZIP format.
